On February 25, 2026, a meeting with Foundation “The children of Siberia” took place in Berlin at the European Union House. More than 60 interested people gathered, there were not only Latvians but also many Germans, simultaneous translation into German was provided for the event. The repressed Andrejs Pebo, Marija Krūmina and Mihails Šomers had arrived from Riga to share their memories, and the foundation’s representatives Dzintra Geka and Mārtiņs Grāvītis. Several film fragments and the film “Igarka, Cerība and Taurenis” with German subtitles were shown. The film received a great response and the Germans showed great interest.
